**The issue** Flytipping and rubbish in general is clearly an ongoing issue for the area. (See [04: fly-tipping](wiki:/southwardforum/index.php?r=wiki%2Fpage%2Fview&id=6&title=04%3A+Flytipping+across+South+Ward&cguid=eeac04d0-65c9-4d4f-8ef2-8cee2c763a0f "04: Flytipping across South Ward"))\ Frank Sparkes ([the North Wall Cleaner](https://www.facebook.com/franksparkesnorthwall/)) is always busy in Nunsthorpe and South Ward cleaning the area (as a volunteer) to keep the place looking the best it can. Frank does almost everything voluntarily but has costs to meet and in early 2025 the Fourm, the Ward Councillors and VANEL had discussions with NELC and were able to obtain a small pot of funding (via the Community Safety Partnership(CSP) ) to pay for some skips for Frank to use. VANEL now manages the pot of money on behalf of the Forum and on behalf of Frank. Frank requests the skips (via [Browns skip hire](https://brownsskiphire.co.uk)) and we pay the bills. Browns also generously regularly donate free skips to help Frank out further. **Status and progress** As of October 2025 5 skips have been funded thanks to the CSP.
