18: Play parks / playgrounds
**The issue**
Residents have told us that the play parks in South Ward need to be improved. There are not enough. Some of the equipment is broken or has been removed and not replaced. Some don’t have enough equipment for all ages.
**Status and progress**
No updates. This is a large issue and will take time to resolve. For discussion at meetings.
**Barriers and obstacles**
Cost. Funding and finance will be required.\
Permissions. To make changes on existing parks or to add new ones.\
Project Management. Who can lead this sort of project?
**Next steps**
Maybe capture more specific details of parks, problems and needs from the community.\
Ask NELC for updates on park projects\
Determine if any local agencies can develop funded projects to invest in new play areas

I’m aware of the under 5’s playground on Nunsthorpe Recreation Ground/Sutcliffe Park.\
